ARO Drilling is attractively positioned with its 20 rig newbuild program to help meet increasing rig demand offshore Saudi Arabia.

The offshore drilling market in Saudi Arabia is expected to expand, creating considerable demand for drilling operations. We are committed to purchasing up to 20 new build jack-up rigs over 10 years, built at International Maritime Industries in Ras Al-Khair.

International Maritime Industries (IMI)

International Maritime Industries (IMI) and long-term partner Saudi Aramco Rowan Offshore Drilling Company (ARO Drilling), have selected a new LJ43 rig design for ARO Drilling’s new rig build program. The new design was developed in collaboration with GustoMSC and Lamprell. It was previously announced that IMI will build 20 rigs over the next 10-years for ARO Drilling. The parties will commence contract negotiation in due course.
